MA in Decentralisation and Local Governance (DLG) is a four-semester Credit-Based Semester System (CBSS) Programme. This program is designed to provide students with a deep understanding of decentralisation and local governance within the frameworks of international, national, and state contexts. Decentralisation and local governance are increasingly recognised as crucial components of effective governance systems worldwide. The world is targeting a sustainable future, and the decentralised system can play a greater role. The program is structured to cultivate a cadre of skilful professionals capable of contributing to the field of local governance, thereby positioning them as vital stakeholders in advancing successful decentralisation and local development initiatives. It provides students with ample opportunities to explore the intricacies of decentralisation and local governance and their implications for addressing developmental challenges both on a global scale and within individual countries. In essence, this program serves as a platform for fostering expertise in decentralisation and local governance, arming students with the capabilities to drive impactful change in governance structures worldwide.
